Joseph Scalzo has served as the Chief Executive Officer and President, as well as a member of the Board of Simply Good Foods since July 2017. He also led in those same roles for Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. from February 2013 until its acquisition in 2017.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Joe began his career at Procter & Gamble. Since then, Joe has held various Senior Executive roles at Dean Foods, including President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of WhiteWave Foods, Inc. Currently, Joe is a Director of Treehouse, Inc., and has also served as a Director of HNI Corp. (2003 to 2009) and Focus Brands (2014 - 2021).
In March 2020, Dave Wallis joined the company as the SVP of Operations. Dave received his B.S. in Packaging from Michigan State University and an MBA from UC Berkeley. He has nearly 25 years of supply chain experience at various CPG and ‘better for you’ snack companies including, ConAgra Brands, Hain-Celestial, Clorox, and Frito Lay.
Don Jones joined the organization in March 2012. Prior to working at Atkins® Nutritionals, he worked with ConAgra Foods for 25 years.
Before advancing to corporate roles, Don started his career in meat and poultry facilities supporting, both, domestic and international businesses. He has held various QA and R&D positions with increased responsibility at supporting retail and food service businesses for over 35 years.
In 2022, Jeremy Ivie was promoted to Chief Product Technology Officer (CPTO). Prior to his promotion, he served as the SVP of R&D and Regulatory where his team led the development of new product innovations for Quest Nutrition, including frosted cookies, tortilla chips and chocolate confections.
Jeremy has a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences with nearly 30 years of experience in R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing and Innovation. His formulation expertise spans multiple areas of nutrition, dietary supplements, functional foods, home care, and pharmaceutical products with many successes at companies such as: Cornerstone, Atkins® Nutritionals, Melaleuca and Nellson Nutraceutical.
Since August 2017, Jill Short has served as the Chief Customer Officer. She was promoted into this position after leading the successful turnaround of the Atkins® brand as the SVP of Sales. Prior to joining the organization in 2008, Jill served in key sales leadership roles for more than 20 years at Muscle Milk, Kraft Foods and Abbott Nutrition, including the EAS brand.
Linda Zink has served as Chief Marketing Officer since May 2022. A seasoned marketing executive, Linda began her career at Atkins® Nutritionals in 2013 and has been instrumental in developing new products and launching them to market.
Previously, she worked at the WhiteWave Foods Company where she was responsible for developing and commercializing incremental and margin accretive platforms for the existing Horizon Organic brand, and other dairy based products. She has many years of experience in CPG, holding various roles at The Clorox Company, Bath & Body Works, The Kellogg Company to list a few. Linda holds a BBA in Marketing and an MBA from University of Michigan.
Shaun Mara previously served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Atkins® Nutritionals from 2014 to 2017. In June 2019, he returned to Simply Good Foods as our SVP, Strategy and Business Development where he led the organizations strategic planning initiatives and the integration team for the Quest acquisition. In 2022, Shaun became our Chief Financial Officer once more.
Shaun received his undergraduate degree from Bentley University. Prior to coming to our organization, he was the CFO at Dean Foods and Roofing Supply Company. He started his career earning a CPA while working at KPMG Peat Marwick. Shaun has spent over 20 years working in Senior financial roles at companies such as: William Wrigley Jr. Company, the Gillette Company and Staples, Inc.
Stamati joined Simply in February 2021. A seasoned Sales and Marketing Executive, Stamati has built and led multiple digital & omni-channel teams across various companies and verticals.
Before coming to Simply, Stamati was at PepsiCo for six years where he held multiple eCommerce Sales & General Management roles across the PepsiCo portfolio. Prior to PepsiCo, Stamati spent nearly 15 years at Stanley Black & Decker with a broad scope of responsibility across Brand Marketing, Product Development, Channel Marketing and eCommerce Sales.
Stuart Heflin was promoted SVP of Quest Marketing in 2022. Prior to joining our team in 2018, Stuart worked for P&G and Glanbia. He has over 15 years of CPG experience in the wellness spaces. Throughout his career, he has impacted key brands, including: Pampers, Pringles, Duracell, New Chapter, Metamucil, Optimum Nutrition, Align, and Iams. Stuart has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a MBA in Marketing from Ohio State University.
Susan Hunsberger joined the organization in July 2020. Prior to joining Simply Good Foods, she was a consultant with FCM, LLC, a private equity focused consulting firm, as well as a Chief Human Resources Officer at The ServiceMaster Company, LLC.
Susan received a B.S. in Accounting and Personnel Management from Miami University and a Master’s Degree in Organization Development from Bowling Green State University. Her diverse, professional experience includes leadership roles within Human Resources at The Nielsen Corporation and GE Aviation.
Timothy Kraft joined our company in June 2018. Prior to joining the company, Tim served as General Counsel of the Green Chef Corporation, and Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Boulder Brands, Inc. (and later Pinnacle Foods).
Tim received a Juris Doctor degree from Marquette University Law School and a B.A. degree from Truman State University. He was in private practice focusing on general corporate law and mergers and acquisitions before transitioning to in-house counsel in 2009.
